Urban Mangoz
Urban Mangoz, a family-owned business founded by Tanuja and Sandeep has been a staple in the Dallas women’s clothing scene since its inception. The story began when Sandeep at just 15 years old, launched a small t-shirt clothing business at the largest flea market in Texas. He and Tanuja, when she was 17 and he was 18 met and soon expanded their offerings to focus on clothing.
In 1990, they opened their first wholesale women’s clothing store on Harry Hines in Dallas Texas. They exhibited in 50 trade shows/year including the prestigious Norton Wholesale show with Tom and Linda Norton in Gatlinburg Tennessee, a tradition they maintain 3x a year with the next generation of show stoppers Nikke Norton and Hunter and Denver Johnston.
While the company originally designed and manufactured its line from China and India under the label Simi Sue, the pandemic led to a pivotal shift. With only 25% of their line made in Italy, they took a leap and moved it up to 100% under the line name Marisima. This transition has allowed them to focus more on quality, timeless style, and accessibility to the fashion capital of the world.
Marisima by Urban Mangoz offers one-size clothing that fits a range of sizes (2-14), with a selection of the best styles available in plus-size (14-20). Their pieces are designed to offer women both comfort and effortless style, with each item being made with exceptional quality and care.
